Phoenix Theatre’s Fun Home Gives Drama Students Tools to Learn

Not only is Phoenix Theatre bringing five-time Tony® Award-winning musical Fun Home to the stage, the company is inviting local drama students to participate in a special outreach program to enhance their hands-on experience with theatre. It’s part of Phoenix Theatre’s ongoing commitment to educate and inspire budding dramatic artists. 

Fun Home is based on Alison Bechdel’s best-selling graphic memoir. The production tackles family challenges, love and coming of age in the 1970s, 80s and present day. The Lavatory PHX: A New Underground Art Installation

A new underground art installation is opening at the end of October in Phoenix at 4700 North 12th Street. It is an immersive and permanent destination, not a pop-up. The exhibit is part of a larger movement of experiential art projects such as the Museum of Ice Cream and Meow Wolf but with significant differences. The Lavatory has been 10 months in the making and included the excavation of 300 tons of earth from under the building and the installation of 28 toilets.
