In a heartfelt tribute to the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost their lives in the Yarnell Hill Fire, two Prescott restaurants are teaming up to support the ongoing needs of wildland firefighters and their families. Throughout the month of June, Bill’s Grill and Red, White & Brew will raise funds for the Eric Marsh Foundation for Wildland Firefighters by donating $1 from every sale of specially crafted burgers created in honor of the fallen heroes.
The initiative commemorates the 12th anniversary of the Yarnell Hill Fire, which occurred on June 30, 2013, and remains one of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history. On that tragic day, 19 members of the elite Granite Mountain Hotshots, based in Prescott, perished while battling the blaze. The loss sent shockwaves through the community and across the country, transforming the crew into enduring symbols of courage and sacrifice.
To support their legacy, patrons at Bill’s Grill can choose from two burgers: the Five Alarm Chili Size, featuring a patty with housemade chili, ghost pepper cheese, fried jalapeños, and chipotle aioli on a brioche bun; and the Valor Burger, a classic build with cheddar, Valor sauce, red onion, lettuce, tomato, and pickle. Over at Red, White & Brew, the Hot Shot Burger offers a combination of a half-pound patty, roasted poblano peppers, pepper jack cheese, onion tanglers, and poblano crema.
In addition to the $1-per-burger donation, both restaurants are offering customers the opportunity to round up their checks, with all proceeds going directly to the Eric Marsh Foundation.
Founded by Amanda Marsh, widow of crew superintendent Eric Marsh, the foundation provides essential support to wildland firefighters and their families, including financial assistance, mental health resources, and advocacy for improved working conditions.
“This cause is deeply personal to Prescott and to anyone who understands the risks wildland firefighters take every time they go out,” said Bill Toole, owner of POV Foods, which operates both restaurants. “We want to keep their legacy alive and support the families and crews who continue to serve with the same dedication.”
Amanda Marsh expressed gratitude for the ongoing community support: “We’re grateful for this continued support from Bill’s Grill and Red, White & Brew. These kinds of partnerships make it possible for us to meet the needs of wildland firefighters and their families when it matters most.”
As June progresses, each burger served will represent not just a flavorful meal, but a contribution to a legacy of heroism, resilience, and remembrance that continues to unite Prescott and beyond. Learn more at Red White Brew | Bold American Dining or Bill's Grill | Prescott, AZ.
