Continuing their unwavering commitment to uplifting Arizona’s youth, The Saguaros have announced $750,000 in grants awarded to 29 local nonprofits dedicated to supporting children. This significant contribution reflects the organization’s mission to foster brighter futures for kids across the state.
The recipients represent a wide spectrum of services for youth in need, from healthcare and education to mentorship and emotional support. Notable organizations receiving grants include Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Junior Achievement, Make-A-Wish, the Foundation for Blind Children, and the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children.
A Legacy of Giving and Service
Since its founding in 1987, The Saguaros—formerly known as The Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix—have raised millions for Arizona-based nonprofits. What sets The Saguaros apart is not only their financial generosity but also their hands-on involvement with the children and families they support. Members of the organization regularly volunteer their time, creating lasting bonds with the communities they serve.
The club is composed of up to 50 young men under the age of 40, all united by a shared passion for giving back. Their efforts are powered by three major fundraising events each year: NiteFlite, a premier golf tournament and gala held in the fall; Cards for Kids; and The Olympiad, a spirited, family-friendly competition in the spring.
Every Dollar Makes a Difference
The Saguaros operate under a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, ensuring that 100 percent of the proceeds from fundraising activities benefit the causes they champion. Of the funds raised, 30 percent are placed in an endowment fund to ensure long-term sustainability, while the remainder is distributed directly to partner charities.
As a Qualified Charitable Organization, The Saguaros enable Arizona residents to contribute and receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit—up to $470 for individuals or $938 for couples filing jointly.
Empowering the Next Generation
From children battling serious illnesses to youth in need of educational support or mentorship, The Saguaros’ 2025 grant recipients are on the front lines of transforming young lives. These grants are more than financial support—they are investments in the future of Arizona.
