The Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center has an urgent need for dry dog and cat food for rescued and rehabilitating animals at its Scottsdale refuge.
The nonprofit Southwest Wildlife’s longtime dry pet food supplier is no longer making those donations.

AZ Giving: American Red Cross Issues Emergency Call for Blood
After the holiday weekend, American Red Cross faces a blood shortage and has issued an emergency call for eligible individuals of all blood types to give now. The American Red Cross now has less than a three-day supply of most blood types available – and less than a two-day supply of type O blood – for patients. At least a five-day supply is desired.

AZ Giving: Boots in the House Collects Care Items for the Troops
Best of Our Valley winner Blythe Grace, PLLC is collecting items for care packages for the troops through Boots in the House program. Robert Reder, managing partner, invites the public to drop off items to be donated throughout the summer.
Frequently requested items include non-perishable food items like peanut butter, energy bars, ground coffee, tuna/chicken packets, microwaveable mac and cheese, to name a few. Boots in the House also accepts items of sunscreen, wool socks, deodorant, floss, toothpaste and more. (See above for a full list of needed items.)
Items can be dropped off at Blythe Grace, PLLC 4040 E Camelback Road, Suite 275 in Phoenix.
