On Friday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the AZ Heritage Center in Tempe, Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary hosts its Fifth Annual Canines & Cocktails reception. The event features heavy appetizers and two drink tickets per person, and it benefits Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion, rescuing, adopting, educating and well-being of senior animals and providing public education to their value.

First-Ever HeroZona Makes Its Debut
Award-winning serial entrepreneur and Operation Desert Storm veteran, Alan Powell, is bringing HeroZona, a week-long event that provides Arizona’s veterans a networking event, to the state from Nov. 4 to Nov. 12.
The series of events include job fairs for veterans, networking opportunities, public recognitions at sporting events, festivals and activities. Just this year, David Johnson, current running back for the Arizona Cardinals, came up with the idea of an organization that can provide support and resources to seriously ill children and their families. Johnson and his wife, Meghan Brock, was inspired to start this organization when their son DJ was born and had to spend five days in the nursery/NICU. Johnson says, “We were hopeful he would be OK, but as first-time parents, we were still very scared.
