A New Leaf: Telling Untold Stories, One Mother’s Hope

She spent her early childhood in suburbia, never realizing how difficult it was for her mother, a single parent, to maintain that home and provide for her family’s needs. Stephanie didn’t understand she was living in an unstable home. Her father was in and out of her life until he left for good when she was twelve years old. “That’s when I first learned what it was like to be homeless,” she said. “I can remember hiding under bridges on many rainy nights, trying to keep dry.”

Blackstone Country Club at Vistancia Raises $57,000 for Singleton Moms Fundraising Golf Event

Blackstone Country Club at Vistancia’s annual Singleton Moms Charity Golf Tournament raised $57,000, with an attendance of 92 golfers at this year’s event, to provide funds for local single parents who are battling cancer. Blackstone Country Club has raised more than $284,000 for Singleton Mom’s since 2011.

Homeward Bound’s Casino Night to Help Homeless Families

A ‘Casino Night’ will be held on Friday, May 13 at the Scottsdale Airport to benefitfamilies impacted by homelessness in the Valley.The third-annual Double Down for Homeward Bound event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Scottsdale Airport in an airplane hangar through Signature Flight Support near Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. Guests will enjoy an open bar, dinner, dancing, silent and live auction, and live music as professionaldealers staff tables featuring Blackjack, Texas Hold’em, Roulette, Craps and other casino games.
