Tucson Fashion Week Announces Lineup Of Events

Tucson Fashion Week has announced its lineup of events and special guests for the 2016 show this October. Now in its fourth year, the annual weekend-long event will treat attendees to three days of fashion arts and culture from Oct. 13 thru 15 at different venues around the city of Tucson.

On Friday, visitors can enjoy everything from a vintage rock-and-roll t-shirt exhibit to a rock-and-roll fashion show featuring local and national designers.

The event will also give attendees a glimpse at the unique styles of Cesar Padilla, owner of Cherry Vintage, a designer vintage clothing resource that was sourced for the HBO series “Vinyl”, American Hustle and for many other celebrities.

Acclaimed Documentary “The First Monday in May” To Make Arizona Debut In Tucson

Just days after its debut at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, Andrew Rossi’s acclaimed new documentary “The First Monday In May” will make its way to a screening in Tucson Monday, April 18. 

The documentary is about the hugely successful 2015 art exhibit “China: Through The Looking Glass” at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibit focused on the influence of Chinese design on Western fashion and challenged orientalism and Asian stereotypes depicted in fashion design. 

The screening will take place at 7pm at the Loft Cinema, 3233 East Speedway Blvd. Tickets are $20 per person with a limited number of student tickets available for $12. The film is presented through a collaboration between Tucson...
