Uko goes from Shy to Center of the Party after Rescue!

At just 33 pounds, Uko is the perfect size for any lap and he definitely does not turn down a cuddle session! After being rescued from a situation where his previous owners could not provide the proper care he needed, the sweet two-year-old Labrador Retriever mix was originally brought into the Arizona Humane Society all the way back in June of this year.

At first, Uko was extremely shutdown, scared and untrusting of people. Additionally, the handsome pup was also found to be covered in ticks and in need of a dental to take out some cracked teeth. In no time, medical care and daily interactions with people who care about him had this cutie pie coming out of shell and showing his true personality.

Uko was quickly adopted but unfortunately returned recently due to wanting to be the center of attention in his home. Because of this, the energetic pup would do best as the only dog in the home where he can show off his adorable zoomies and have a dedicated spot on the couch for him to rest on next to his favorite people.

In an effort to get more pets into their forever homes, the Arizona Humane Society is hosting $0 adoption fees for ALL pets on Saturday, September 5th. Uko’s waived adoption fee includes his neuter surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip, and a follow-up wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital. Visit this handsome pup at the Arizona Humane Society's South Mountain Campus or learn more at azhumane.org/adopt to give him the loving forever home he deserves.
