Let’s say you just got home after a long, stressful day at work.

You unlock the front door, walk inside, and find a pleasant surprise anxiously waiting for you, courtesy of your honey.

As you enter the dining room, you see a picture-perfect candle-lit set table accompanied by a delicious centerpiece: red vino.

You pour yourself a glass as you walk into your bedroom, finally taking off those black uncomfortable heels you’ve been wearing all day.

You put on your beloved “comfies,” and make your way back into the dining room, eager to enjoy your home-cooked meal.

As you take your seat at the table, you feel like the luckiest girl in the world…what a guy you have!

That’s when you finally decide to inquire what’s on the menu for the fabulous evening in.

Forget chicken, fish, or good old beef-- tonight your man cooked up some of his fresh game:  bear, buffalo, and a side of boar.

Yes, it’s just another typical night at the Allen household.

During football season, superstar Viking Jared Allen is a Defensive Lineman living in Minnesota, but when the Super Bowl wraps up, he ditches the Midwest for the desert.

And being a Viking is surely fitting, because this killer has that warrior-like spirit rooted in his blood.

“Every hunt is unique,” said Allen.

Our home-town boy has quite a hobby, exploring the world rifle in hand.

“I hunt everything. I love bird hunting because I have two really cool bird-dogs, so watching my dogs work is always a fun experience.”

His pups Bonnie and Clyde join Allen on his escapades, and now you can too.

The mean marauder of the Minnesota Vikings recently released a cookbook, but this one, not quite fit for Martha or Rachel Ray.

“It’s called ‘The Quarterback Killer’s Cookbook.’”

Yes, he’s dishing all his favorite recipes with one (field) goal in mind.

“We show people you can make really cool meals, substituting regular meat with wild game.”
