He’s asking you to bid beef a farewell, and he speaks from experience.

The Viking grew up on ranches all over California.

His father and grandfather taught him hunting 101, and it eventually became Allen’s passion.

He and his wife moved to Scottsdale strictly for the sun, lifestyle, and location.

Allen savors the simple drive to Tucson, where he frequents killing elk in the White Mountains.

And when he’s not getting his game on, you can find our football friend chilling by the pool, on the golf-course, or dining at The Lodge in Old Town.

“It’s unlike Scottsdale.  It’s very relaxing almost like a ski lodge in the desert.”

Allen is an investor in The Lodge; in fact, you can taste his creative creations weekly for Wild Game Wednesday.  (He suggests ordering the buffalo meatloaf.)

But, cooking it up in the kitchen is not the only place he heats things up.

This cook is simply a bad-ass on the field.

“I just try to inflict as much harm on the person in front of me, and then things are all right.”

Note: he said that with a smirk, but you know Allen has quite the appetite for success.

He kicked off his career in 2004 on the Kansas City Chiefs.

In 2007, he erupted, leading the league with 15.5 sacks in 14 games, and becoming an All Pro and Pro Bowl pick.

However, he became a Viking in 2008, and now leads his team in sacks.

But off the field, he feasts his eyes on his lovely wife.  They’ll be married one year this May.

“She’s funny, beautiful, smart, self-motivated, and driven; she’s my best friend.  I want to raise kids and do the old American dream.”

Apparently a hopeless romantic at heart.

He also has a charity, “Jared Allen’s Homes of Wounded Warriors,” raising money to build homes for injured war vets.

“My whole family is affiliated with the military.  My brother’s in the National Guard, my other brother’s a Marine, and my Grandfather was a Marine.”

I guess Jared Allen is just an All-American type of guy.

Off season, the Scottsdale star hunts for a sport, and when football starts again, he struts his stuff as the Valley’s Viking.

“I don’t think I’m that big of a deal.  There are definitely people out there who are more important than I am. I’m just lucky, I guess.”
