Pink is the New Black - Bowl for the Cure Day

Every one of our lives has been touched by cancer in some way. Maybe you have a relative or friend bravely fighting the disease, get yearly exams to prevent a negative diagnosis, or are a survivor yourself. Komen for the Cure have partnered up to create the perfect weekend stress-buster, Bowl for the Cure Day.

In greener parts of the country, the art of tree climbing as a child is often a classic and treasured pastime. Here in the desert however, suitable trees are few and far between, namely due to the dominance of cacti (one word-thorns), and that’s where The Children’s Museum of Phoenix steps in.

New Children's Hospital Named After Mesa Family

The new Banner Health Children's Medical Center was named May 20 after the Cardons, a Mesa family who made a $10 million contribution last fall to the $356 million expansion. The Cardon Children's Medical Center will be the newest hospital in the Banner Health family, and a huge development in pediatric care in Arizona. The family’s generous gift, officially gifted by Wilford Allen and Phyllis Reneer Cardon, is the largest contribution to date to the nonprofit Banner Health Foundation and is one of the largest gifts ever to children’s healthcare in Arizona.
