Betty and her Baker’s Dozen came to the Arizona Humane Society in late July after she was found by a Good Samaritan as a sick stray and very pregnant. Dehydrated and in need of help for herself and her future pups, the pregnant mama had nowhere else to turn.

The three-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier was taken into the shelter’s Mutternity Suites, a quiet, medically supervised area for pregnant and nursing dogs, where she has been undergoing care for tummy issues. Hunkapi Programs Seeks Community Support as Herd Heads North for Summer Relief

As the Arizona summer reaches peak temperatures, Hunkapi Programs, a Scottsdale-based equine therapy nonprofit, is turning to the community for urgent support. Each year, the organization relocates its herd of therapy horses—many of them elderly and retired—to Flagstaff, offering them cooler weather and a much-needed break from the desert heat.

Picazzo’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Giveback Has Raised Nearly $50,000 for Autism & Rett Syndrome Research

What began as a sweet idea to support autism research has evolved into a powerful fundraising campaign for Rett Syndrome. Since launching its cookie giveback program on National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day in 2021, Picazzo’s Healthy Italian Kitchen has raised over $47,000 for the Rett Syndrome Research Trust (RSRT) by donating $1 for every chocolate chip cookie dessert sold.
