It is time to meet local artist Such Styles, who has been creating electrifying street art for over 30 years throughout Arizona. Fueled by his love and admiration of the early street art scene in New York, Styles perfected his skills creating artwork everywhere he went, which in many cases were train cars, walls etc. As a veteran artist he has exhibited his work in a variety of venues including museums, galleries, art centers, and it has been featured on a variety of film, television, and national publications. Styles artwork is vibrant and engaging with a strong focus on graffiti writing, street culture, and comic icons.  

Many people have seen his artwork around the valley from large scale murals to paintings and even skate decks. His iconic “Chola Kitty” series is bold, colorful and playful with great mass appeal, such as with a more recent piece titled “Cat U Dig It” featuring five tough felines! Styles is known for his amazing script abilities as seen in “What Cha C @149 St. Station in Da Bronx”, an elaborate and beautiful subway station scene.

When asked about the inspiration behind his work Such said, “My inspiration comes from so many different places and experiences, always in motion for me”. This is definitely evident in the eclectic work he creates and the positive energy he brings with him. Styles also collaborates along side his sons Champ and Christian, sharing his craft and skill with them Sharing an amazing energy and connection. Styles is honored that his sons have decided to follow in his footsteps and truly loves creating art with them. Be sure to explore several local murals across the valley Including their collaborative mural “Hello My Name Is Guadalupe” located at Priest and Baseline! 

Styles is currently exhibiting some work in the exciting group exhibition Street Art Phoenix in Shade Gallery at the monOrchid featuring a dynamic selection of some of our valley's most talented muralists.
