‘Tis the season for fabulous toes and nails.  Yep, with the upcoming holidays come new savvy trends, especially for your hands and feet.  And thanks to our gals over at Old Town’s V Spot Salon, we’re getting the scoop on styles definitely worth sporting.

“Gun-medals, silvers, black, and fedora are totally in,” said Lulu Burt, owner, V Spot Salon.

Lulu (my dear friend) runs the 5^th Avenue shop specializing in an array of beauty services.  However, amidst bikini waxes and hair-dos, Lulu’s shop is also known for its artsy take on manis and pedis, and seasonal styles are taking over her salon.

“Of course it’s all about gels and Shellac, which lasts about 2-3 weeks,” she said.

According to Lulu, the holidays are a time for glitz and glamour, so you might want to go for some cocoa or tan polishes with a splash of gold glitter.  And she says you should consider this season’s fad a toned-down Lady Gaga, getting dark-colored French tips rather than the traditional white.

“We’re also seeing rounded and pointy nails, not square.”

Short, natural nails are still in, but if you’re feeling a little frisky, make a flashy statement.  The V Spot recently added a unique feature: gel-coated nail wraps--consider it art, heat-sealed to your nails or toes.  And you can choose from a bunch of design choices, like leopard, paisley, or polka-dot.

As for toes, rock-star dark is topping the trend watch.  Steer clear of summer and spring colors.
