Who says you can’t be sexy in your 70s?

Well, age is just a number for 74 year old Myrna Foster.  She’s a mother of four, a college grad, wife, friend, and singer…

She also just got crowned Ms. Senior Arizona 2011.

“I am as young as I feel and this is the most wonderful time of my life,” said Myrna Foster, Ms. Senior Arizona.

This youthful grey-haired, green-eyed grandmother is celebrating her golden years draped in a sash and glamorous gown.  Just recently, Foster scored #1 in the Ms. Senior Arizona Pageant, out of 15 state-wide women over 60.

“I feel like a princess.  It’s a wonderful feeling,” said Foster.

Myrna’s getting the chance to be young all over again, feeling like a princess as she flaunted her stuff during the March 12th, 2011 Pageant.  All of the Arizona contestants were rated on inner-beauty, philosophy, elegance, and talent.

Yes, even our local oldies are goodies. Foster serenaded the crowd as she sang Stevie Wonder’s, “For Once in my Life.”

“I’ve always loved to sing.”

Our beauty queen is originally from Kansas; however, she has called the Valley home for more than 20 years—in fact, she’s a Sun Devil.  The pageant winner put college on hold to raise her four kids, but returned to further her education at Arizona State University.  In 1995, she walked away with a degree in Gerontology…go figure, the study of aging.

“I am living what I studied.”

As Mark Twain once said, Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. Well, it doesn’t seem to bother Myrna all that much.

After signing up for the pageant in January, Foster joined the other contestants in a series of rehearsals.  The night before the big contest, she went through a vigorous round of interviews, as five judges drilled her with questions.

Then it was game time.
