AutismConference

On September 13-14, 2012, the Phoenix Convention Center will host the "Back to School & More" Autism and Asperger's Conference. This two-day event is geared towards parents, teachers, SLPs, professionals and individuals on the Spectrum.

James Adams, founder of Autism Conferences of America, states, “We are proud to present what we believe to be the most comprehensive autism conference series in Arizona. In addition to the keynote speakers, we have over 20 local and national speakers with diverse backgrounds on timely topics and practical strategies.”

These useful topics and concepts include literacy strategies, effective means of communication, using a variety of media to gain social understanding, training individuals to act in children’s raw and natural environments, and plenty more. Attendees will also learn about biomedical problems, dietary solutions, and motivational educational and interpersonal tactics.

The conference will feature two keynote speakers to laden the audience with insightful knowledge from their studies. Paula Kluth, PhD., is scheduled to speak about her book, You’re Going to Love this Kid!: Educating Students with Autism in Inclusive Schools, on Thursday, September 13th. On Friday, September 14th, psychologist Elizabeth Laugeson, PhD., will deliver The Science of Making Friends: Evidence-Based Social Skills Training for Adolescents and Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The Phoenix Autism and Asperger’s Conference is guaranteed to be an informational and inspirational event. At the end of the two-day program, participants will leave equipped with the necessary tools and in-depth knowledge to create an effective environment and support system when Autism and Asperger’s is involved. With a solid foundation in the research, education, and strategies presented at the conference, a better and brighter future can be built for all individuals.
