Galentine’s Day Celebrations

As some individuals are counting down the days for the upcoming mushy, gushy holiday, others are feeling like their relationship status, or lack thereof, is being plastered on their forehead. So for all the “single,” “it’s complicated,” “exclusive but not dating,” and “exclusively going on dates but still not calling it dating” women out there, don’t fret. There’s a way to celebrate that is way less nauseating: Galentine’s Day! For those who do not know the origin of Galentine’s Day, it was coined by leading lady Leslie Knope on “Parks and Recreation,” and she explained that it is a day for “women celebrating women.”

Romantic relationships are great or whatever, but let’s continue her Galentine’s Day movement by celebrating the relationships she is talking about. The ones who do not come with candies and flowers, but the ones with the girls that keep you sane.

So grab your gals and enjoy a night on the town as you celebrate the friendships that have outlasted and gotten you through the psycho ex-boyfriends (or -girlfriends), poor wardrobe choices, horrible jobs, bad jokes, questionable dance moves and moments of utter embarrassment. The ones who have been there through the ugly and the sad and still would have a #WCW Instagram post dedicated to you and to your accomplishments.
