This Saturday, Dec. 16, Phoenix Rescue Mission will be providing Christmas to 1,000 kids and their parents who are in need during its annual Winter Wonderland celebration.

From 8 to 11 a.m., the Mission’s Community Solutions Center in Phoenix will be turned into an holiday wonderland with bounce houses, games, cookie decorating, activities and much more. Staff and volunteers will also host the annual gift giveaway where kids and parents can “shop” for gifts, wrap the presents themselves and give them to each other.

Phoenix Rescue Mission still needs the community's help to allow Winter Wonderland to come together. The nonprofit is in need of new unwrapped toys, small household items and personal gifts to make the event a success. Items can be donated through the week, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Mission Support Center, 1468 N. 26th Ave., in Phoenix.
