Local couple Bob and Renee Parsons are no strangers to philanthropy. Renee, featured in Arizona Foothills Magazine's Women Who Move the Valley 2014 oversees The Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation; Bob is the executive chairman and founder of GoDaddy. But, now, the couple is proving just how big-hearted they are by joining The Giving Pledge campaign, "a long-term, global initiative created by Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates that aims to inspire deeper engagement in philanthropy and increase charitable giving globally."
The Parsons are the first Giving Pledge signatories in the state of Arizona. They have committed to giving at least half of their wealth to nonprofits that are "making a difference and inspiring hope for the American Dream." Bob says: "Renee and I have always believed every child has the right to good nutrition, the best medical care, a good education, a happy and stress free environment and the hope that they too will share in the American Dream. We've dedicated our foundation and our resources to helping make this happen. It makes sense we join The Giving Pledge."
The Giving Pledge has a total of 122 pledge signatories representing 12 countries and 25 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
