It might be scorching outside, but local are still urged to get in touch with nature this weekend! Salt River Tubing in Mesa celebrates the 6th Annual National Get Outdoors Day (GO Day) event on Saturday, June 8, 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. The event is designed to reach first-time visitors and reconnect teens to the great outdoors. The pirate-themed event includes costumed Salt River Tubing employees, pirate line dancers, live entertainment and pirate warships (shuttle buses) to ferry the Salt River pirates to and from the river. Plus, pirate bandanas will be given to the first 500 buccaneers during National Get Outdoors Day, and Salt River Tubing will be giving 500 pirate treasure bags to the first 500 groups upon tube rental return. Salt River Tubing will also award free tubing passes to participants throughout the event for the best pirate tuber costumes. http://www.saltrivertubing.com/.
