Instead of another bottle of perfume or a bouquet of flowers, Phoenix nonprofit Fresh Start Women’s Foundation offers a unique Mother’s Day gift idea this year. Sons and daughters are invited to gift their mother--or loved one--with a commemorative, engraved brick at the Jewell McFarland Lewis Women’s Resource Center in Phoenix. Bricks are $100 each ($80 of which is tax-deductible). Every honoree will receive a packet for their gift with a certificate explaining the brick and an invitation to an open house and brick unveiling that will take place in early fall.
