President Obama announced his intent to nominate Bert Castro, President and CEO of the Arizona Zoological Society/Phoenix Zoo as a Member of the National Museum and Library Services Board.

Castro joins two other nominees for appointment to the Board. The National Museum and Library Services Board (NMLSB) is an advisory body that includes the director and deputy directors of the Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS) and twenty presidentially appointed and Senate-confirmed members of the general public who have demonstrated expertise in, or commitment to, library or museum services.

“I am honored to be a part of this prestigious and knowlegable group of individuals,” says Castro, President and CEO of the Arizona Zoological Society/Phoenix Zoo. “I look forward to serving on this Board and discussing relevant issues facing our country’s cultural institutions.”
