While motorcycles and kids typically don’t mix, one Tucson event for bikers will benefit a more-then-worthwhile cause, the March of Dimes.

Bikers for Babies Kick-Off Party will celebrate the upcoming Bikers for Babies, a motorcycle ride that raises funds to benefit the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies. The actual Bikers for Babies event will take place November 2011.

There will be live music, door prizes, free food and drinks and entertainment by Los Nawdy Dawgs and Abandoned by Heros. The 2011 Bikers for Babies raffle Grand Prize is a custom Fire & Ice Motorcycle, valued at over $20,000, by Big Sky Motorcycles, plus 10 additional prizes including cash. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Cost of raffle tickets is $50.

Event sponsors include Big Sky Motorcycles, Ynot Entertainment, Dos Lunas Tequila, Budweiser and Tattered Dolls.

The kick off party will take place Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 6pm to 10pm at Big Sky Motorcycles, 313 W. Sahuaro St. in Tucson. The cost is $15 single/$25 per couple.

Paid admission can be applied as a discount toward one full price raffle ticket during the Kick-Off event. 100% of the proceeds from the event will benefit March of Dimes to further the mission of giving every baby a healthy start.

Premature birth is the most serious infant health problem in the United States today. It affects more than half a million babies each year nationwide and over 13,000 in Arizona. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have lifelong disabilities. The March of Dimes is committed to reducing this toll by funding research to find the causes of premature birth and providing comfort and information to families

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
