Tucsonans know that fall events abound this time of year. Start lining up the social and event calendars for a jam-packed October with Halloween events presented left and right.

The Tucosn Zombiewalk is back again this year. The 2010 event will start and end at Club Congress in Tucson. Attendees and participants are encouraged to dress up as the Zombie version of your favorite film character.

In addition to parading around in costume, event coordinators say that participants should come and be ready to dance, participate in a costume contest, crawl up and down 4th Ave and finally rock out with the Mission creeps.

Proceeds of the event will benefit Community Food Bank, so attendees can also bring/donate non-perishable food items for this charity event. The Zombie Walk wil l take place Saturday, October 23, 2010. The festivities begin at 4 pm with a Thriller dance. There will be music, vendors, dancing and activities until the Costume Contest at 6:30 and the Walk itself will start at about 7-7:30.

The categories for the Costume Contest are: Funniest Zombie, Most Original zombie, Scariest Zombie, Best Group of Zombies, Best Zombie Hunter and there will also be prizes for best kids costume. The event will only going to be choosing costumes that best represent this year’s theme. If someone wins for a particular category, they are eligible to enter for “Best in Show” prize.
