A new art, clothing, and accessories shop is opening in the urban heart of downtown Tucson on Friday, Oct. 5. Local designer, artist, and founder of Tucson Fashion Week, Elizabeth Albert, is opening the new store, CandyStrike.
Locals may be familiar with Elizabeth’s fashion line, Siobhan Clothing, which has been featured at Tucson Fashion Week, Fashion’s Night Out at La Encantada, and personal local fashion shows. She is now expanding her line at CandyStrike.
The grand opening celebration will take place in the center of the Warehouse Arts District downtown from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests are invited to browse, shop, and help celebrate the opening.
Not only will guests be able to find clothing full of local urban flavor, but also hand painted art and accessories that Elizabeth creates. Along with Elizabeth’s own unique work, the store will carry art and pieces from local artists. The most progressive component of the new store is the emphasis on carrying contemporary plus size fashions from size 12 to 24. Elizabeth believes that fierce has no size limit, and that plus sized women should have more clothing options than currently available. One of CandyStrike's original designs, featured above, is available in store and online.
Elizabeth has over ten years of experience creating original clothing for women of all shapes and sizes. When she noticed that her plus sizes ran out incredibly quickly, she became passionate about the need for quirky, fashionable plus-sized clothing options. Elizabeth’s passions have come alive as she closes her tiny studio and opens CandyStrike. Her level of experience and expertise, incredible skill set, and undying passion for creating original looks for women of all sizes make Elizabeth an unstoppable force in local fashion.
The grand opening celebration will feature drinks, music, and shopping. Regular hours are as follows:
