The Second Annual Stand Up to Stop Violence comedy fundraiser will take place at Fox Tucson Theatre on Sunday, September 9 at 7 p.m. The hilarious event, featuring basketball heroes and talented comedians, benefits Emerge! Center to Prevent Domestic Abuse and the Blair Charity Group.

Suzie Sexton, one of Arizona’s funniest comedians, is bringing her show to Fox Theatre for a night of comedy. Stand up tour de force Eric O’Shea, who sells out shows at college campuses across the country, will headline the show. Other special guests include Davis Fitzsimmons, voted “Best Entertainer” by Tucson Lifestyle Magazine, Joey G, Elliot Glicksman, Gary Hood, Tom Potter, Nick Seivert, and Nancy Stanley. Guests of the event can enjoy this donated humor and help support a great cause.

On August 29, at the University of Arizona Student Union Ventana Room, an “American Idol” style audition will be held for the event. At the audition aspiring college student comedians can compete for a special guest spot at the event. The competition will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Doors to the Stand Up to Stop Violence event will open at 6 p.m. Student tickets are $10 with a valid ID, an other tickets are priced at $15, $25, and $50. Tickets are available at 17 West Congress or at www.foxtucsontheatre.org.
