The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain is launching a new, fun program of adventures, activities, and rewards for all ages. The Dove Mountain Rangers, led by the resort’s mascot, Ranger Ron, offer a guided program of desert adventures for children and adults. Check out all that the rangers have to offer!
Geo-Caching Desert Treasure Hunt
The first geo-caching adventure in the region allows guests with GPS devices to explore and seek hidden “caches” where resort collectibles are stowed. Guests will be provided with GPS technology and will walk along the resort’s Wild Burro, Alamo Spring, and Upper Javelina trails. Each treasure hunt leads to six separate hideaways where treasures can be found behind cacti, trees, and rocks. This adventure is perfect for children, adults, groups, and families.
The Desert Tortoise and Desert Wildlife Experience
The ranger staff takes care of desert animals, including Rocky the Desert Tortoise, a tarantula, and two non-poisonous snakes, which they will introduce to guests. Young guests can see Rocky in his desert habitat and enjoy an educational experience with desert friends. The rangers also guide a nighttime bug experience and other animal adventures that allow kids to closely observe critters in the 850 acres surrounding the resort.
Sunset Vista Cocktail Hike
This 90-minute guided hike takes guests through the Sonoran Desert and ends with a cocktail at the resort’s Ignite Lounge. The hike, 2.7 miles, is for adults only and allows recreational hikers to witness the majestic Arizona sunset, towering saguaros, and native desert flora. This hike is perfect for couples that want to add a little adventure to their date night.
