HomeTucsonTucsonista › Tucsonista: It’s a Lanvin Bugs Life

Moths, butterflies, spiders and flies. While it may sound like some kind of horror film, these creepy crawlers are crawling all over the arms and necks of fashion's finest. Scarab rings, butterfly charm bracelets and spider cuffs are showing up in swarms to greet the spring season.

These jewel-encrusted creepy crawlers were made chic when designer Alber Elbaz for Lanvin sent models down the runway with oversize cuffs and chokers featuring bug accents. Thank you Lanvin, theses modern vintage styles are an undeniable source of inspiration for the upcoming fashion season. Not only are we seeing these fabulous insects jewels decorated with extravagant rhinestones and other intricate detail, they are also being discovered all over handbags and shoes.

Insect accessories were a very popular trends during the Victorian era and the 1940’s when macabre style was largely desirable. There is also a huge covet for vintage-inspired jewelry right now, along with the darker more vamp aesthetic.
