HomeTucsonTucsonista › Tucsonista: The Fashion Show- "London Calling"

If you are a fashionista you have probably been adamantly following all of the fall trends as they hit the New York Fashion Week runways. Unfortunately for Arizonans, New York is about a five-hour plane flight away. Though all of us could use the escape, we have other fashionable obligations, such as helping children and families in need by attending The Fashion Show.

The weekend of September 26, The Tucson Ladies Council will once again pave the fashion runway from New York to Arizona. The Fashion Show: London Calling will showcase some of the most upscale boutiques that any fabulous Tucsonista should know. Guests will be left in awe when the 1960’s British Mod-inspired fashions grace the The Fashion Show’s runway at the lavish La Paloma nestled in the Tucson Foothills.

Guests will enjoy gourmet hors d’oeurves to nibble on as well as drinks from a martini bar while they indulge on the hottest trends from Anthropologie, Avenue Boutique, BCBG, Brooks Brothers, Ilori eyewear, Franklin’s Men’s Store, Mills Touché, Nicolas K (New York), Por Moi Boutique, St. John, W Boutique and more. Tucsonans will also be inspired by the Vintage Couture garments that will be shown courtesy of Vintage Fashion Inc. in Scottsdale. There will also be a fashionable pre-show performance featuring costumes created by the students from The Art Institute Design Center of Tucson. During the event guests will have the opportunity to directly contribute to Yu Nidito by bidding on the live and silent auctions that include prizes such as $8,500 worth of lux Pierini Designer Jewelry, vacation packages and more marvelous gifts.

Each year The Fashion Show runway event benefits Tu Nidito Children and family services. The Fashion Show has been rising money for Tucson’s family’s in need since 2005. The event attracts over 400 of Tucson’s most affluent and prestigious Tucson citizens and has raised over $390,000 for Tucson’s children in its five year span. This is a fashionable night that any Tucson fashionista shouldn’t miss. Don’t forget to join the after-party at the Azul Lounge at La Paloma, with live entertainment and reverse happy hour specials. The Pavilion at Westin La Paloma is also offering a special stay and play room rate for $119 a night, a great price for the luxurious amenities available at the resort and the conveniently located shopping at La Encantada which houses many of the boutiques featured in the Fashion Show. Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased at www.tunidito.org/tlcfashionshow for more information call 520.322.9155
