Founded in 1980 as the first Habitat for Humanity affiliate west of the Mississippi, Habitat for Humanity Tucson has been building affordable housing for deserving residents more than 30 years thanks to donations of money, material, land and time. Local contributions and area partnerships fund the building, land purchases and operation of missions. With that, Habitat Tucson builds between 15 and 20 homes a year.

After last week’s devastating earthquake in the capital of Port-au-Prince, Haiti killing thousands of innocent people and leaving millions homeless, The American Red Cross quickly took action. Not only did they deploy their people, food and water, their worldwide organization raised $103 million dollars in under a week. In light of their selflessness, we at AFM wanted to recognize their round-the-clock work ethnic and unbelievable compassion in times of need.

Tucson has long been known for its tourist activities and has enough attractions and sightseeing opportunities to keep even the most devoted resident entertained. But what if you just want to get away for a few days? Bisbee, located 90 miles southeast of Tucson, is a great place to stay for the weekend with the whole family, offering plenty of tours, activities, shopping, history and dining.
