Romantic, intimate and friendly almost beyond belief, Turtle Island Resort is a world entirely beyond time and obligations. For adventurous island wanderers looking for a private paradise, Turtle Island is it. The resort makes up the entire island and is yours to explore. Turtle Island is a couples’ only resort except for a few weeks each year when families are invited.

Located in the Yasawa Island group of Fiji, the all-inclusive resort is a 500 acre, privately owned island, surrounded by rich coral reefs and white sand beaches. Fiji’s culture flourishes on Turtle Island where BULA! (greeting) is heard from every staff member, which reinforces the title given to the Fijians as being the “Friendliest People on Earth”.

During your stay on Turtle, your home will be one of only 14 “bures,” traditional, two-room, beachfront cottages handcrafted by local Fijians. Hand-woven 21-foot vaulted ceilings arch over mellow wood floors. Grand Bures come with their own in room jetted spa tub, four poster king size bed and daybed on your veranda for napping.

Each couple is assigned a Fijian Bure Mama who acts as cultural advisor to nurture guests throughout their stay. She will help arrange activities, keep your bure tidy, take photographs of your special times and cater to every wish and whim.

You will delight in a sumptuous picnic lunch on one of Turtle’s private beaches where you will lose your worldly inhibitions. You’ll sip champagne while relaxing in a hammock and gaze into the azure waters of the Pacific.

Included are all activities such as snorkeling, daily scuba diving and sport fishing. Experience a sunrise horseback ride down the beach with a champagne breakfast afterward. You can hike or bike to the top of the mountain for expansive views of outlying islands or just practice the fine art of doing nothing at all.

Lantern-lit dinner parties are lively, as worldly problems seem to disappear in the joyous gatherings of other guests. For a quiet, romantic evening, request a dinner on Turtle’s floating dock. Fresh fruits and vegetables grown on the island are pared with fresh seafood and Australian beef for your dining enjoyment. Accompanying your meals are fine wines and champagnes from around the world.

Weddings are truly breathtaking on Turtle Island as the sun sets on the main beach. The groom awaits his bride while Turtle’s choir sings. His bride glides on the glassy waters of the Blue Lagoon on a “Billi Billi” raft, decorated with fresh flowers and powered by strong Fijian men. The night ends with a glorious feast and champagne.

Long known for their eco-friendly practices, a stay on Turtle Island gives one the satisfaction that they have contributed to a sustainable environment. The many awards bestowed are testament to leaving the smallest footprint possible while having the experience of a lifetime. Your hammock for two awaits.
