In today’s society, cars are a status symbol. Some rides suggest the driver is sleek and sexy, while others simply emulate refined sophistication. None, however, have conveyed effortless luxury more than the new Rolls-Royce Ghost. The newest engineered car by Rolls-Royce, priced at $245,000, has left hearts palpitating and other luxury cars in the dust. After all, it is the most powerful car ever produced by the luxury dealer to date.

The craftsmanship of The Ghost is intricate at best. The 20-day process includes 2,000 individual operations performed by 30 different men and women. Inside, the interior’s flawless leather comes from the hide of eight bulls. To prevent any defects in their coats, the bulls are raised on pastures free of barbed wire. To maintain a consistent color throughout the car’s interior, the hides are then dyed at the same time. The seats are then hand-stitched by master craftsmen.

The wood veneer used to accent the premium leather is carved from one tree to ensure that the grain and color match perfectly. In addition, the interior boasts frosted lamps and chrome door handles, traditional switches and eyeball air vents, frosted white dials and refined instrumentation. Outside, engineers made certain the physical design elements embodied by Rolls-Royce were included. They are an elevated prow, long bonnet, short front overhang, sharply ranked A-pillar and elegant tail. Contemporary influences include self-righting wheel centers and Xenon headlamps that frame the new Rolls-Royce grille.

Passengers can enter and exit the back via rear-hinged coach doors that open to a generous 83 degrees and close at the touch of a button. Natural light infiltrates the space through an overhead panoramic sunroof which extends from the front to the rear. Standard lounge seating can be elevated to include individual lounge seating. The inclusion provides a massage feature and perforated leather to allow a cooling stream of air to circulate from the seats surface. For long drives or outings, guests can indulge in an optional cool box that illuminates and holds perfectly chilled Champagne glasses. Like its name suggests, The Ghost’s 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 engine goes from zero to 60 in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. The double-wishbone front suspension and multi-rear link suspension is what makes Rolls-Royce the most refined car in its class. The new air suspension is what sets The Ghost apart from its class.
