 What an amazing family bonding experience to wind through the streets of downtown Phoenix with your kids and dogs - and then take a victory lap around the outfield wall at Chase Field!

Yes, for the first time the Arizona Diamondbacks’ annual “Race Against Cancer” is welcoming our beloved and adorable dogs! The charitable event, now in it’s seventh year is a popular family affair which brings together several community organizations and benefits several Arizona non-profits.

You can feel the fun and success of last year's event from those pictured above. So find your dog’s favorite leash (or buggy) and mark your calendars for 3/31  for the1-Mile Family Fun Walk, presented by PetSmart Charities.  The D-backs Race Against Cancer event is presented by The University of Arizona Cancer Center at Dignity Health at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Proceeds from the 5K/1-Mile Family Fun Walk will benefit Arizona non-profit organizations that provide screening, treatment and support for those dealing with all types of cancer through the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation. 

Race participants can also enjoy the health and wellness expo to learn more about cancer research, screening, treatment and support. For more information or to register here’s the link. dbacks.com/race

The 5K will begin at 7:15 a.m. and the 1-Mile Family Fun Walk will start at 8:30 a.m. at Chase Field. Each participant will receive an exclusive D-backs racing shirt, unique finisher medal courtesy of Safelite AutoGlass, D-backs drawstring bag and a ticket to a 2019 D-backs home game. Registration is open through March 25 and is $40 for the 5k and $20 for the 1-Mile.

 Registration for children 12 and under to participate in the 1-Mile Family Fun Walk is only $5.  Fans can also create an online fundraiser to engage family and friends and win great D-backs prizes and experiences, including tickets and the opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
