Just Google It

When school started in august, my 7-year-old son came to me with a very funny question: “Dad, did they have Google when you were young?” I replied, “Of course not. Google is only about 10 years old.” Then he goes on to ask, “Why do we need school if we can Google everything?”

Hot Time, Summer in the City

There is nobody in the valley who would tell you honestly that July is their favorite month here. That’s why we save our vacation days for summer and take off to cooler places as much as possible. This year, however, it seems that most families will take a few weekend trips, but forgo the lengthy summer holiday away—leaving them in town for most of these hot, hot days. But July in the Valley doesn’t have to be all bad, since there is much to take advantage of, if you literally look on the bright side.

For the Kids

Since February of this year, I have watched as a dear friend of mine has spent nearly everyday in and out of the hospital caring for her 2-year-old daughter with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer. Until personally affected, I had not really understood how specific and unique children’s medicine can be and how different it is compared to adult healthcare.

Relationships are Underrated
