The Brian Injury Alliance of Arizona celebrated their outreach and programs serving veterans and military families with the inaugural Brain Health Gala Honoring Veterans at the Phoenix Zoo Neely Center among a private showing of Zoo Lights on Saturday, Nov. 16. The Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona is a statewide 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to creating a better future through brain injury prevention, advocacy, and education for survivors, caregivers, and allied healthcare professionals. Fundraiser such as this will allow the organization to assist thousands of Arizona survivors of all types of brain injury. Nearly than 250 guests came out to celebrate the organization’s 35-year anniversary and enjoyed bidding on an array of silent auction items, inspiring speeches, great food and company. The emcee for the evening was Nicole Crites of channel 3 and among several distinguished guests were Barry Goldwater Jr., former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, Captain Mark Kelly, Dr. David Adelson, and Dr. Patrick Borsage, and Dr. Patricio Reyes. The event concluded with keynote SEAL Team Six member, author, and brain injury survivor James Hatch.
