Mar. 13, 2016. Phoenix International Raceway hosted the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Good Sam 500 race on Sunday, March 13. Thousands of race fans witnessed Kevin Harvick winning the closest race ever in the track's history, barely edging out Carl Edwards by 0.010 of a second for the win. NASCAR returns to Phoenix on November 13, 2016.
