May 6, 2020. The Arizona Coyotes teamed up with St. Mary’s Food Bank to distribute more than 400 meals to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday, May 6 in the parking lot of Gila River Arena. More than 45 volunteers from the Coyotes, Cox Communications and Mission Arizona Youth Hockey used a no-contact drive-thru system to distribute the meals. Families stayed in their cars while the meals were delivered to their trunks for safe distribution. Among the volunteers was Coyotes President Ahron Cohen. This was the first St. Mary’s Food Bank mobile pantry at Gila River Arena.
