Adorable Longtimer Brutus Looking for Forever Home!

As the shelter that cares for the Valley’s sick, injured and abused pets, the Arizona Humane Society is particularly facing challenges in its trauma and intensive care areas as more pets in need of medical care come through its doors each day. Additionally, many large breed dogs have been available and looking for their forever homes but unfortunately are sitting on the adoption floor for much longer than anticipated once medically cleared.

One such pet in particular who has been patiently waiting for his forever home is adorable Brutus, who has been receiving care at AHS for more than 115 days (and counting) since being brought to the shelter in February of this year. Brutus was rescued by an AHS Emergency Animal Medical Technician™ after his owner unfortunately passed away and had no next of kin to care for him.

In his time at the shelter, the four-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix has been treated for a puppy cold in AHS’ Lazin Animal Foundation Trauma Hospital but has overall been very healthy. After more than three months at the shelter, Brutus cannot wait to show off his adorable ears in his future forever home where he can get all the cuddles and love after a long day of playing and making new friends.

Thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation, all dogs and puppies have $0 adoption fees through Sunday, June 9th to help relieve the overcrowding at the shelter. Interested adopters can meet the kind Kia at AHS’ Papago Park Campus location. Her adoption fee includes her spay surgery, current vaccinations, a microchip, and a follow-up wellness exam with a VCA Animal Hospital.
