Chew on this: boost your libido snacking on these sexy foods. We're dishing ways you can naturally get your partner in the mood.
Having trouble getting horny? Well, you might want to consider changing your diet to get those juices flowing.
If you’re on the hunt for natural ways to increase your libido, look no further. Dr. Cristina Romero-Bosch, NMD says your boy can trade in the Viagra for some very tasty aphrodisiacs.
“There are anecdotally and scientific foods proven to increase sex drive,” said the North Scottsdale Naturopath.
Dr. Cristina Romero-Bosch, NMD runs a private practice providing clients with help on how to up their metabolism and improve their diet. She says many people seek ways to woo their guy or gal into the bedroom, and there’s actually a savory solution to doing so.
Some foods carry chemicals, vitamins, and minerals that actually increase levels of estrogen and progesterone. Take almonds, for example—they’ve been considered a fertility food since ancient Greek times. Dr. Romero-Bosch says the almond aroma induces female passion. It also contains an excellent source of protein and Vitamin A; a healthy source for girls who want to get in the mood.
Another sexy aphrodisiac is the spice anise. Dr. Romero-Bosch says the seed increases sexual desire and performance.
“Consider anise a mild Viagra. It helps soothe erectile dysfunction,” said Dr. Romero-Bosch.
The spice is commonly found in Latin cuisine and alcohol like Sambuca; a good reason to “cheers!”
Pair your Sambuca with a spoonful of honey—that’s the sweet treat Dr. Romero-Bosch says does the trick, especially among women. Honey is a power food thought to increase fertility, containing a handful of handy nutrients. Create a delectable desert topping fresh figs with drizzled honey; the moderate amount of sugar tends to get girls a little more giddy.
“Have fun with it; make eating arousing.”
Here’s a way to show off some edible sex appeal—stock the fridge with baby carrots. Dr. Romero-Bosch says the phallic-shaped vegetable has been a male stimulant for centuries, used by royalty in the Middle East to aid in seduction. Oddly enough, the doctor says they can even be used as a foreplay tool! She suggests serving your partner a pre-sex platter of carrots and other colorful veggies.
But the above food choices aren’t the only edibles that can increase sex drive.
