Hollywood’s white diamond has died.

She was a classic beauty, iconic Oscar-winning actress, devout activist, eight-time wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Elizabeth Taylor passed away Wednesday at the tender age of 79 years old, surrounded by her four children.

"My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love," said Taylor’s son, Michael Wilding.

About a month ago, she watched her final Academy Awards from her Cedars-Sinai Hospital bed, where she spent the past six weeks struggling through heart problems.

The stunning, wide-eyed woman first gained stardom as a child, and went onto star in more than 50 timeless films. She won Oscars for her roles in “Butterfield 8” (1960) and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” (1966).

Taylor was born in London in 1932, but she sought out the spotlight, spending more than 70 years in show biz.  However, this dazzling diva was notoriously known for her juicy love life and often offbeat behavior.

In 1950, she first tied the knot to Conrad Hilton Jr., the hotel heir; but this was not the only time the black-haired beauty got hitched.

Taylor was married eight times to seven different men including fellow actors, producers, and even a politician. She talked about her many men in her last major interview appearing in Harper’s Bazaar.

"I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands," Taylor said. "I have been supremely lucky in my life in that I have known great love."

This alluring actress was also an entrepreneur, offering a perfume brand and a handful of jewelry lines.  Her box of gems must have been a haven for any diamond-loving girl, as Taylor owned only the finest of incredibly unique things.
