Those poor theater students are often mocked by the world. But the good news is, they learn critical skills that can be transferred to other industries if they are willing to think outside the black box. Musical theater colleges often try to share these career options with students so they know there are alternatives to being on the big stage. Think about it, musical theater gives you confidence, motivation, memory skills, musical skills, and so much more. You experience the ups and downs that come with landing the big parts and with getting a role in the background. You learn leadership if you direct any of the plays, and those skills are invaluable. Art Degree
Artists never have to starve again. Nor do they have to be career waiters unless they want it. The art industry is booming. Contrary to popular belief you don’t need to own a business if you get a business degree. You might be better suited to help a company find the best tools for their IT needs. Perhaps you want to manage a store, but don’t want the responsibility of owning it. Or you really love people and selling, and so something like car sales or real estate is more up your alley. Getting a business degree opens a lot of opportunities. Look at business trends and think about the different skills you gain beyond the different topics you learn about. Any degree would qualify you to be a writer and you can create content around any topic where you have specific knowledge.
