Closet Case: Style Interview with Alexandra Evjen

Alexandra Evjen recently came on my radar; she’s a local stylist. I fell head-over-heels with her look. She’s eclectic, mixes bold colors and prints and describes her style as “New England prep mixed with 1960’s Palm Springs glam”, how could you not love that?.  She wields a Balenciaga bag, an item that she covets most in her closet and believes that you should never be without diamonds, a black blazer and a slim fitted oxford shirt. She’s certainly someone to take...

Fabulosity: Loeffler Randall & SUNO's Fashion Week Collaboration

New York Fashion week has finally come and gone. With it a plethora of fashion presentations, shows and collaborations are behind us. One collection stood out more than the others... Suno presented a collection of bold prints, modern cuts and a overall quirky aesthetic. From the ankle down, Loeffler Randall was responsible for the shoes. The collaboration between Suno and Loeffler Randall was fantastic; the basic design of the overall shoe that was shown was a chunky wedge wrapped in colors like gold, purple and also floral prints.

Closet Case: Style Interview with Chantell Nighswonger

Like most public relation girls, Chantell Nighswonger is certainly a fan of black. Chanel flats, a Prada purse and agenda from Hermes is the normal uniform for Chantell. Before becoming an account coordinator at the PR-powerhouse Allison & Partners, Nighswonger worked in the PR office of Versace. Red carpet fittings, Rachel Zoe encounters and calls from Donatella Versace herself is all in a days work for this PR maverick. Since last season, Chantell is now handling the PR for Scottsdale Fashion Week and doing a fantastic job, as the event was mentioned in the LA Times. Chantell describes her style as “It’s as if Ralph Lauren and Penny Lane had a love child. I call it the Hamptons meets Coachella”.

Closet Case: Style Interview with Kellie Haynam

Kellie Haynam is a fashionable free spirt. Haynam, the self-professed “high-class hippie” has eclectic taste. This “hippie” never took up tie-dye, bell bottoms or Grateful Dead shirts. Kelly prefers Marni, Missoni and Vuitton. From Woodstock to Winston (Harry), I suppose. She can often be found in gauze-like gowns from Gucci circa 1970s, quirky printed Missoni tunics and dripping in overstated gold jewelry.

Closet Case: Style Interview with Jill Laine

Jill Laine is a garment maverick. She is the type to make Pucci python skirts plausible, Hermes Birkin bags sensible and mink coats in July conceivable. Jill was born with great taste. The bombshell blonde in Balmain can often be found in Barneys, but Jill loves a good deal and, like a heat-seeking-missile, she finds exquisite treasures at stores such as My Sister’s Closet.

“Chic is chic, and if I can find it a better price, that is chic-er,” Jill adds on the topic of her couture, bargain hunting habits. It’s no secret that Laine’s confidence in style is not the norm. That being said, Jill began a new chic endeavor as a style coach where she teaches a “secrets of style” workshop. I sit down with the...
