HomeFabulosity by Corbin Chamberlin › Closet Case: Style Interview with Chantell Nighswonger

Like most public relation girls, Chantell Nighswonger is certainly a fan of black. Chanel flats, a Prada purse and agenda from Hermes is the normal uniform for Chantell. Before becoming an account coordinator at the PR-powerhouse Allison & Partners, Nighswonger worked in the PR office of Versace. Red carpet fittings, Rachel Zoe encounters and calls from Donatella Versace herself is all in a days work for this PR maverick. Since last season, Chantell is now handling the PR for Scottsdale Fashion Week and doing a fantastic job, as the event was mentioned in the LA Times. Chantell describes her style as “It’s as if Ralph Lauren and Penny Lane had a love child. I call it the Hamptons meets Coachella”.

Describe your style?
It's as if Ralph Lauren and Penny Lane had a love child. I call it the Hamptons meets Coachella.

If you had to wear one item of clothing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Any of my maxi dresses, it's hard not to look stylish in them.

If you could steal one person's wardrobe, who's would it be?
Diane Kruger

What is the crown-jewel of your closet?
This Fall 2008 Marc Jacobs Monochrome Lurex tweed box jacket with hand-painted stripes. It has that classic Chanel feel but with that wonderful modern Marc Jacobs twist.

If any, what advice would you give to others about fashion?
Fashion is a reflection of how you wish the world to see you, so dress accordingly.

What article of clothing are you lusting for at the moment?
Leopard print wedges

What are six items of clothing no one should be without?
White button down, skinny jeans, black blazer, anything leopard, a cross-body bag, and printed silk scarves

What is the biggest mistake people make when it comes to fashion?
The worst mistake I see is that people's clothes don't fit their body. Spend a little less money and get the piece tailored to fit you and it won't matter what trend your wearing.

What trend do you love at the current moment?
Black Swan is definitely influencing some trends right now and as a former ballerina, I'll take cashmere wraps, pastels and chiffon skirts any day!

In history, fictional or non, what individual has the best style?
Overall, Parisian woman today and in history have this effortless sense of beauty and style that never fails to surprise me. They literally ooze style.

Must have beauty product?
Chapstick. No one likes a pair of chapped lips.

Favorite local boutique, shop, store?
Saks Fifth Avenue and My Sister's Closet
