In The Bag: Holli Christensen

Holli Christensen, owner of Arcadia's Park Avenue Blow Dry and Beauty Bar, appreciates bags of large stature and high quality. The comical cosmetic queen lugs a Louis Vuitton packed with everything besides the kitchen sink. A girl on-the-go, Christensen ponders, "Can I fit my entire office in this?" while purchasing a purse. You'll find Tom Ford sunglasses, tied, wrapped and twisted Hermes scarves around the handles and a plethora of all things pretty in her purse. We take a peek...

In The Bag: Michele Laudig

Michele Laudig has great taste; you’ll have to take my word for it, as she keeps a religiously low-profile. Not a single picture to be found. The food writer and fashion-fanatic is no stranger to the realm of style. After Laudig graduated from college, she was asked to be an assistant to Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour.

In The Bag- Sabrina Posillico

Sabrina Posillico’s pregnancy might have cramped her calves, but not her style. The baby bump hardly interfered with the model’s wardrobe. The severely chic Posillico never looked out-of-sorts during the nine months. Posillico is the first to be featured in a new series called “In The Bag,” articles that look into the contents of various women’s handbags around the Valley. She’s traded in the Chanel 2.55 for a Dolce and Gabbana purse that doubles as a diaper bag—it’s called being fashionably-flexible. We chat with Posillico about her handbag and the items she carries with. . .

Closet Case: Ryan Karner

You’ll find no seersucker, tennis sweaters or Keds in the closet of Ryan Karner, Arizona native and now Los Angelino working in the marketing department at a hair and makeup agency. Karner dubs his style as “emotionally driven with an interest in grunge and punk.” Do not be mistaken, not the kind of tasteless and lackluster sort of ‘punk’ you’d see on that misfit from high school. Karner’s punk is more along the lines of Vivienne Westwood, Yohji Yamamoto and decorates with studded and spiked accessories from Hermes. If classy could be discovered in grunge, Karner has obtained that look. Karner is easy to spot with his pink hair a la Chris Benz and added height from his Prada Creepers. Fashion misfit...

Closet Case: Ashley LaRae

Loving local stylist, Ashley LaRae. She’s finessed the wardrobes of music legends like Kanye West and Jay-Z. When asked what’s the biggest mistake someone can make via fashion, LaRae replied with “People make the mistake of purchasing/wearing ill-fitting clothes. Whether they’re trying to squeeze into something too small or hide under something too big, they’re cutting themselves short. If it’s not flattering, it shouldn’t be worn.” I speak with the stylist to collect her thoughts on fashion and style.
