The Board of Directors for Sedona Jazz on the Rocks has reluctantly decided to cancel the festival, scheduled for fall 2013. According to a press release issued by the organization, "[w]e deeply appreciate your support for Sedona Jazz on the Rocks and our mission to preserve jazz for future generations through education and performance programs.  We fully expect to continue those efforts."

Valley Eye Center Hosts Eye Glass Drive

Through September, Valley residents are invited to donate their gently used prescription eye glasses to any of Southwestern Eye Center's eight Valley locations. Collected glasses will be used for Sight Day on Saturday, Sept. 28. To commemorate Sight Day, Southwestern Eye Center is offering free eye care services to 200 kids, teens and adults from the local Salvation Army. Pre-selected patients will get a free exam and a pair of gently used glasses that best match their prescription. Donations are accepted 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
