Goodwill of Central Arizona is celebrating “Christmas in July” at their retail locations throughout the Valley, Yuma and Prescott. Throughout the month, Goodwill stores will also be offering various promotions and sales--and, of course, proceeds go to one of the oldest and largest nonprofit agencies in Arizona.

Esperança Hosts Summer Donation Drive

Through August 30, Esperança, an international nonprofit headquartered in Phoenix, is holding a Summer Drive to collect surgical equipment for its international programs and hygiene supplies for its domestic programs.

Each fall, Esperança sends one sea shipment container full of donated medical goods to its trusted partners in Central and South America for use in their clinics and hospitals. These supplies are used by Esperança’s surgical volunteer teams and distributed to hospitals in need in the region. They accept both expired and non-expired materials and supplies. Donate Old Cell Phones This Summer

Phoenix's Keep It Cut, a men's hair salon, is a designated drop-off location for the national nonprofit, Cell Phone For Soldiers. In honor of National Cell Phone Courtesy Month (July), the men's hair salon is collecting your old cell phones during the month of July in exchange for a chance for you to win free haircuts for six months. Each person who donates a phone (valued at $5) will be entered into a drawing for a free six-month membership at the salon. The promotion will begin on July 1 and go through July 31. A winner will be announced on August 1. One entry per person.

 

Karma Kids Yoga Kamp

Finding unique activities for the kids during the Arizona summers can be a challenge. But one Valley yoga studio has a fit and fun alternative to another round of video games. From 12 to 1 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the month of July, Sumits Yoga North Phoenix will host Karma Kids Kamp. This unique yoga camp is intended to help parents and children ages six to 14 connect and communicate with one another while introducing youngsters to the many health and lifestyle benefits of yoga.
