Brandon Greer saw his vision come to life this week at the monOrchid with the premier of “Daydreaming at Night”, the first of a three part event series from Square1Phx.

Brandon Greer has been covering fashion events and spotlighting artists on his website “My Boy B”, which he says helped inspire Square1phx, as well as connect him with so many wonderful creatives. Greer says, “my website myboyb looks to create, influence, and inspire while presenting a taste for the modern and artistic style“ and he goes on to say, “ Square1Phx is an artistic and fashionable experience”. Through the support of his family and friends Greer said he was able to achieve his goals of bringing together the worlds of art, poetry, and fashion encompassed in Square1Phx. Square1Phx is comprised of four inspiring people, Brandon Greer, Tatiana Young, Felicia Gaines and Jay Tatum, all who played important roles in making this event happen and each focusing on their area of expertise!

Greer produced, hosted and exhibited at this event that highlighted several local artists, four poets, a fashion designer, as well as a fashion show set in the ideal backdrop of the monOrchid.The venue sponsor is the monOrchid and Shade Projects, a multifunctional and co-working space that offers two wonderful galleries, managed by Shade Projects. Located in the heart of Roosevelt Row, it was the perfect location and they were honored to be apart of this exciting event. The monOrchid said, “we were impressed by Mr. Greer passion and hard work and we were happy to help his vision come to life since we were the ideal pairing for this unique multifaceted event as well as our mission at Shade Projects”.

This event was proudly sponsored by Couture in the Suburbs, a team of inspiring young women who highlight the best “Fashion, Beauty, Culture, while seeking to expose talented individuals excelling within these industries to an investigative audience” on their engaging website. The months prior to the event kickoff, Couture in the Suburbs highlighted Greer, his passions, and shared his exciting plans with their audience, in addition to showcasing the artists to be featured in the event.

Music provided by DJ Godzilla set the mood, people came out in droves to support and celebrate Greer’s debut. Patrons enjoyed light refreshments and treats, captured the evening at photo stations, and explored the evening’s feature artists chosen by Greer, displayed on special walls built specifically for the event artists included Val Hunt, My Name is JZ, and Edgar Fernandez, just to name a few. Jay Tatum selected four poets that inspired the crowd, 3 local and one from Texas were spotlighted on a stage as a preview for the upcoming July poetry event. Lastly guests were treated to an impromptu and somewhat unconventional fashion show from DIVE Clothing, who displayed some intriguing men’s fashion causing a flurry of  excitement and flashes selected by Tatiana Young and Felicia Gaines.

An enthusiastic response from family, friends, and peers who all seemed to love “Daydreaming at Night” offering rave reviews and buzz for the next event! Up next for Square1Phx is the Poetry event spearheaded by Jay Tatum slated for July followed by a Fashion event  slated for September organized by Tatiana Young and Felicia Gaines, more details to be released in the upcoming months!
