Kicking off this Thursday, February 25th Scottsdale Public Arts and Salt River Project present Canal Convergence | Art + Water + Light  2016.

Be sure to head over to the Scottsdale Waterfront for an exciting 4-day celebration of the arts running through Sunday, February 28th, 2016. Canal Convergence centers around the themes of water, art, and light and takes place along the banks of the Arizona Canal between Soleri and Marshall Way bridges at the Scottsdale Waterfront. Now in its fourth consecutive year, featuring incredible interactive artworks by local and international artists. There is also an "Artist@Work" demonstration area, family-friendly activities, art-making stations, free workshops with dance collective Pilobolus, and live performances held throughout event.

This year features 12 large-scale artworks featuring a diverse and electrifying group of artists including: Bruce Munro, Aphidoidea, KAZ Shirane, Inga Liljestrom, Purring Tier, Amy Sansbury Manning, Edina “Mosstika” Tokodi, Joshua Dopp, Christopher Jagmin, Lindsay Kinkade, Perry Allen, Joy Holland, RIOILT Dance NY, and Philobolus. These artists have created engaging interactive artworks and installations, which will be on view throughout the event!

An impressive and intriguing list of installations include: Blooms by Bruce Munro, Spiraling Droplets by Aphidoidea, Light Origami created by KAZ Shirane, MICRO –Double Helix by Purring Tiger, True Local Time by Amy Sansbury Manning, Billboard Mindscape by Edina Tokodi, a river’s passing, 1 by Perry Allen, Your Secret is Safe with Me by Christopher Jagmin, Design RePublic Mobile Studio with Lindsay Kinkade, Autumn/Spring Pavilion: Desert Series by Joy Holland,  and Highway Hotshop by Joshua Dopp demonstrating live glass-blowing.
