The Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West is “Committed to exploring the challenges, responsibilities, and opportunities of our modern world while honoring and learning from past achievements” offering a wonderful selection of incredible exhibitions, educational programs, and community outreach.

Currently featuring several exhibitions including A Salute to Cowboy Artists of America and a Patron, the Late Eddie Basha: 50 Years of Amazing Contributions to the American West, which is a retrospective highlighting 50 years of Cowboy Artists of America (CAA) on view through May 31, 2016. Inspirational Journey: The Story of Lewis & Clark Charles Fritz chronicling the expedition of Captains Merriwether Lewis and William Clark on view through October 21, 2016. The A.P. Hays Spirit of the West Collection that features saddles, spurs and other western items from the collect of Abe Hays.

Other exhibitions on display include Confluence of Cultures in the American West: A Selection of Contemporary Artists, Courage and Crossroads: A Visual Journey through the Early American West, Fine Art of the American West: People and Places, Heritage Hall and Will James: Cowboy Artist and Author.

Stroll through the incredible Christine and Ted Mollring Sculpture Courtyard that features beautiful and exotic desert plants and an ever-changing array of sculptural exhibits. Currently on display is a stunning collection of works by famed artists Allan Houser, Bill Nebeker, and Doug Hyde. They also feature a wonderful Learning Center where visitors will be able to view public programs of all types, from formal workshops to casual studio art encounters.
