A wonderful musuem located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale the Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, showcasing a variety of historic objects, painitngs, sculptures and much more! Currently they are featuring several inaugural exhibitions including Confluence of Cultures in the American West: A Selection of Contemporary Artists, Courage and Crossroads: A Visual Journey through the Early American West Fine Art of the American West: People and Places, Heritage Hall, Inspirational Journey: The Story of Lewis & Clark, Process and Materiality: The Bronze Artistry of John Coleman with Erik Petersen, and Will James: Cowboy Artist and Author. Get lost in the history of the West while examining beautiful artifacts and diverse artworks including photography, paintings, sculpture, jewelry and more. Plus the museum offers tours throughout the week giving their visitors a more indepth looks at their collections and its history.
Explore the dazzling Christine and Ted Mollring Sculpture Courtyard that features beautiful and exotic desert plants and an ever-changing array of sculptural exhibits, currently on display are a stunning collection of works by Bill Nebeker, Ed Mell, and Doug Hyde. They also feature a wonderful Learning Center where visitors will be able to view public programs of all types, from formal workshops to casual studio art encounters.
